Windows Vista Operating System Computers use drivers (software) to communicate with printers. As with all new releases of operating systems (OS), drivers used with the old OS may not be compatible with the new OS. This may cause a variety of issues such as not printing, printing garbled characters, or printing text or images in a different way than is shown on the computer. Before switching to a new OS, we encourage customers to make sure there will be new drivers available for their printers or to ensure the compatibility of their current drivers. In order to avoid the expense of a service call related to incompatible drivers or OS related problems. For customers who have already switched to a new OS and are experiencing printing difficulties, we would encourage you to try printing from a computer that still has the old OS or from a laptop with an older OS. This will help determine if there is a printer problem or a driver problem.
